2026 field study program: HUIT Biotechnology students gain practical experience in Lam Dong Province

As part of the 2026–2027 academic year training plan, the Faculty of Biology and Environment, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), organized a field study program for Biotechnology students of Class 14DHSH in Lam Dong Province from 20 to 24 July 2026. The program was designed to strengthen the connection between theoretical knowledge and industrial practice while providing students with valuable exposure to professional working environments in the biotechnology sector.

During the field study, students visited Binh An High-Tech Agriculture Co., Ltd. (Binh An Farm), where they explored a high-tech agricultural production model certified under Global G.A.P. standards. They observed the cultivation of grapes, melons, and passion fruit through modern greenhouse systems, automated irrigation technologies, and advanced production processes. These experiences enabled students to apply their academic knowledge to real-world agricultural production.

The delegation also visited Dalat Hasfarm Co., Ltd., a leading enterprise in high-tech floriculture, where students learned about flower cultivation techniques, greenhouse management, pest and disease control, harvesting, and post-harvest handling in accordance with international standards. In addition, students explored the wine production process at Lam Dong Food Joint Stock Company (Ladofoods), as well as biotechnology applications in dairy production, milk processing technologies, farm management, and career opportunities at Dalat Milk Joint Stock Company (Dalat Milk).

The program also provided students with opportunities to explore biotechnology applications in environmental protection, agriculture, and scientific research. At the Da Lat Wastewater Treatment Plant, students gained insights into biological wastewater treatment technologies and sustainable environmental protection solutions. At the Da Lat Nuclear Research Institute, the delegation was introduced to the applications of nuclear techniques in biotechnology. Furthermore, at Hana Production and Trading Co., Ltd., students visited facilities for the cultivation of Cordyceps militaris, learned about value-added products derived from medicinal fungi, and explored high-tech strawberry farming systems.

In addition to the academic activities, the program included visits to Da Lat Railway Station and the Langbiang Biosphere Reserve, together with a range of team-building activities. These experiences broadened students' understanding of the local culture and natural heritage while enhancing teamwork, communication skills, and collaborative spirit.

The field study concluded with a closing Gala held in a warm and memorable atmosphere. Through direct engagement with enterprises, research institutes, and production facilities, students not only reinforced their professional knowledge but also gained clearer insights into career expectations, personal development pathways, and employment opportunities in the biotechnology sector.

According to the Faculty's training plan, during the first semester of the 2026–2027 academic year, students of Class 14DHSH will continue their field study program with visits to Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company and UV Joint Stock Company, further expanding their practical experience and strengthening their professional competencies.

Through its annual field study programs, the Faculty of Biology and Environment continues to reaffirm its commitment to practice-oriented education, strengthening university–industry collaboration and creating opportunities for students to develop professional knowledge, practical skills, and career readiness to meet the evolving demands of the biotechnology workforce.
