From laboratory to market: Practical insights shared at the 2026 Biotechnology Career Talk

     On June 14, 2026, the Faculty of Biology and Environment successfully organized the 2026 Biotechnology Career Talk at Room F402, 140 Le Trong Tan Campus under the theme: “Biotechnology from Laboratory to Market: How to Transform Ideas into Real Products?”

     The event aimed to strengthen connections between academia, industry, and students while providing valuable insights into career opportunities, scientific research, innovation, and product commercialization in the field of Biotechnology.

     The program was attended by Dr. Pham Van Loc, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Environment, together with faculty members and students. The event also featured distinguished guest speakers, including Mr. Lai Dinh Bien, M.A., Lecturer at the Faculty of Commerce, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade; Ms. Le Thi My Nu, Chief Executive Officer of KBH Cosmetic Manufacturing Factory; and Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc, Director of Bcham Solutions and an alumna of the Biotechnology program at the University.

     In his opening remarks, Dr. Pham Van Loc emphasized the importance of strengthening the linkage between education, scientific research, and industry demands. He encouraged students to continuously enhance their professional knowledge, practical skills, and innovative mindset in order to meet the evolving requirements of the labor market in an era of rapid technological advancement.

     Throughout the seminar, the speakers provided practical perspectives on career development, applied research, innovation, and the commercialization of biotechnology products.

     Opening the technical sessions, Mr. Lai Dinh Bien shared valuable insights into career planning and workplace expectations in modern enterprises. Drawing on real-world experiences, he highlighted the importance of aligning career goals with personal passion, competencies, and organizational needs. He also emphasized essential skills for future professionals, including workplace communication, time management, digital literacy, effective use of artificial intelligence tools, professional conduct, and adaptability. Students were encouraged to build personal portfolios, seek mentorship opportunities, and actively engage in research and entrepreneurship projects during their university years.

     Following this, Ms. Le Thi My Nu presented practical experiences from product research, development, and manufacturing in the cosmetics industry. Through real case studies, she illustrated the process of transforming an idea into a commercial product, from identifying market needs and developing laboratory formulations to product testing, quality assurance, large-scale manufacturing, and market launch. Her presentation provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities involved in biotechnology-based product development and industrial production.

     A highlight of the event was the sharing session by Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc, Director of Bcham Solutions and a distinguished alumna of the Biotechnology program. Drawing from her professional journey in innovation and entrepreneurship, she discussed the importance of connecting scientific research with market needs and creating value from innovative ideas. Her inspiring stories demonstrated how perseverance, creativity, and continuous learning can help transform research outcomes into impactful solutions for society and industry.

     In addition to the presentations, students actively participated in an interactive discussion session, raising questions related to career orientation, employment opportunities, scientific research, entrepreneurship, and product development. The speakers provided practical advice and shared valuable experiences, helping students gain a clearer understanding of potential career pathways and professional development strategies.

     The event concluded with a token of appreciation presented to the guest speakers for their meaningful contributions. The Career Talk not only provided updated insights into workforce demands and emerging trends in Biotechnology but also inspired students to pursue research, innovation, and lifelong learning. Through activities such as this, the Faculty of Biology and Environment continues to enhance industry engagement and support the development of highly qualified graduates capable of meeting the challenges of an increasingly innovation-driven economy.
