HUIT Natural resources and Environmental management students make their mark at HUSS vietnam 2026
From July 6 to 9, 2026, a delegation of students from the Natural Resources and Environmental Management program, Faculty of Biology and Environment, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), participated in the HUSS Vietnam 2026 International Cooperation Program under the theme “International Collaborative Solutions for Climate Change Adaptation Based on Global Resources.”
The program brought together academics, experts, industry representatives, and students from leading universities in Vietnam and the Republic of Korea, including Yeungnam University, Kwangwoon University, Kookmin University, Sun Moon University, and Honam University. It served as an international academic platform to strengthen collaboration among universities, industry, and students while promoting innovative initiatives in climate change adaptation, the circular economy, renewable energy, carbon credits, and biochar technology.
A highlight of the program was a series of field trips to leading enterprises, including Nafoods and TTC AgriS. During these visits, students gained first-hand insights into industrial production processes, circular economy practices, greenhouse gas emission reduction strategies, and resource optimization solutions. They also engaged directly with industry leaders to collect data and analyze real-world challenges, providing a solid foundation for developing innovative solutions for the International Hackathon.
Based on the information gathered during the field trips, Vietnamese and Korean participants were assigned to eight multinational teams to collaboratively develop innovative solutions addressing climate change and sustainable development challenges. The teams presented and defended their projects before a panel of experts at the Department of Science and Technology of Tay Ninh Province, demonstrating their research capability, critical thinking, teamwork, and ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment.
With creativity, initiative, and a strong global mindset, the HUIT delegation delivered an outstanding performance by winning one Second Prize and two Consolation Prizes in the International Hackathon. These achievements not only reflect the students' academic competence and ability to apply disciplinary knowledge to real-world environmental challenges but also demonstrate their confidence and adaptability in an international academic setting.
Participation in HUSS Vietnam 2026 provided Natural Resources and Environmental Management students with valuable opportunities to expand their international networks, strengthen communication and teamwork skills, enhance critical thinking, and develop practical problem-solving competencies through industry-oriented projects. These experiences have equipped students with the knowledge, skills, and global perspectives needed to thrive in the era of green transition and sustainable development.
The achievements of the HUIT delegation at HUSS Vietnam 2026 further demonstrate the effectiveness of the Faculty of Biology and Environment's practice-oriented educational approach, its commitment to international collaboration, and its emphasis on research and innovation. They also reaffirm HUIT's dedication to educating highly qualified graduates with global competencies who are well prepared to contribute to sustainable development in an increasingly interconnected world.
