On September 10, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) organized the Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 Academic Year and a Meet-and-Greet Program for students enrolled in the 2+2 international joint programs with Chinese Culture University and Ludong University.

Overview of the Opening Ceremony

The program was attended by leaders of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), Chinese Culture University (CCU), the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, faculty members, and a large number of students enrolled in the 2+2 international joint programs.

The Opening Ceremony provided an opportunity for the University to welcome new students as they embarked on a new academic journey, while also creating a space for interaction and connection among students from different cohorts enrolled in international joint programs. Through the program, students had the opportunity to learn more about the training pathways, learning environments at partner universities, and the requirements they need to prepare for their international learning and experiential journey in the coming years.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Dr. Thai Doan Thanh, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, emphasized the increasingly important role of international education in preparing human resources with professional expertise, foreign language proficiency, global perspectives, and the ability to adapt to international working environments.

Accordingly, HUIT identifies international cooperation and the internationalization of education as one of the University's long-term and strategic development orientations. In the context of higher education becoming increasingly connected with the region and the world, HUIT proactively expands its international cooperation network, embraces advanced educational values, and gradually enhances the University's position.

HUIT not only aims to expand the number of its partners but also focuses on building substantive, long-term, and mutually beneficial partnerships. Cooperation activities are implemented across various areas, including education and training, student and faculty exchanges, academic exchanges, scientific research, culture, and business connections.

In particular, students are identified as the center of the educational internationalization process. Through the 2+2 international joint programs, students have the opportunity to study at HUIT during the first two years and continue their studies at partner universities for the following two years. This model enables students to experience different educational and cultural environments, enhance their foreign language proficiency, broaden their perspectives, and develop their ability to adapt to international environments.

In his remarks, Dr. Thai Doan Thanh also extended his congratulations to the new students embarking on a new academic journey, while expressing his expectation that they would take an active approach to learning, continuously improve their foreign language proficiency, strengthen their professional knowledge, and actively develop their international integration skills.

According to the University's leadership, four years of university study are not merely a process of acquiring knowledge but also a journey of personal growth for each student. In addition to professional competence, students need to gradually develop an international mindset, intercultural communication competence, adaptability, and the ability to work in multinational environments.

Based on this orientation, HUIT will continue to expand international opportunities for students, strengthen cooperation with reputable universities, international agencies, organizations, and businesses, while creating more opportunities for students to study, gain experience, and develop beyond the classroom and national borders.

The Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 Academic Year also marked a new development in HUIT's international training cooperation, particularly the implementation of the 2+2 international joint programs with Chinese Culture University and Ludong University.

Strengthening coordination between the University and partner organizations and expanding international educational opportunities

Within the framework of the program, delegates, faculty members, and students participated in various meaningful activities, including exchanges, sharing sessions, welcoming remarks, recognition of students with outstanding achievements, and the signing of cooperation agreements between HUIT, Chinese Culture University, and Ludong University.

These activities contributed to strengthening the connection between the University, partner universities, and students, while laying a foundation for the continued effective, substantive, and sustainable implementation of international joint programs.

The Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 Academic Year marked the beginning of a new academic year filled with opportunities for learning, experience, and development.
